Light utility transport, feederliner and (L 410AF) photographic survey aircraft. Flight crew of two and alternative arrangements for 12, 15, 19 or 20 passengers in rows of three with two seats to starboard and one to port. L 410AF photographic version has stations for camera operators in nose and main cabin. Business executive layout available with accommodation for eight passengers. First of four prototypes flown April 16, 1969. Pre-production series of six aircraft built during 1971 of which two entered service with Slov-Air in September or that year. First production deliveries (to Slov-Air) commenced in 1972 and photographic versions developed in 1973 with first deliveries (to Hungary) in 1974. Development of variant with the indigenous M-601-B turboprop of 740 ehp continuing at beginning of 1975. The accompanying illustrations depict the photographic L 410AF.
